Physics Report~ELECTRIC FORCE OF STATIC ELECTRICITY~

QUESTION:  

1.      How is the relation between the interference of time needed to create static electricity and electric force?

2.      How is the relation between the distance of static electricity in 2 objects and electric force?

3.      How is the relation between the quality of charge and electric force?

OBJECTIVE: To know the relation between the factors that influences the quality of static electricity and the relationship with electric force

HYPOTHESIS:  

1.      The longer time needed to create electric force of static electricity will make electric force stronger

2.      The shorter distance between object and electric force of static electricity will make electric force stronger

Then the variable to prove the hypotheses are:

The 1^st Experiment:

a.       Manipulation Variable: The interval of rubbing the plastic ruler with hair.

b.      Respond Variable       : Ruler with the more time to rubbing will attract paper more.

c.       Control Variable         : same plastic ruler, same small cut of paper, same hair with same pressure and velocity when rubbing, same watch.

The 2^nd Experiment:

a.       Manipulation Variable: The distance between plastic ruler and small cut of paper.

b.      Respond Variable       : Ruler with the closed distance with paper will attract paper more

c.       Control Variable         : same plastic ruler, same small cut of paper, same hair with same pressure and velocity when rubbing, same watch.

EXPERIMENT:

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS:

1.      Plastic Ruler

2.      Small cut of paper

3.      Hair

4.      Notebook and stationary

5.      Watch

PROCEDURE:

1.      For the 1^st experiment, I rubbed the plastic ruler in my hair the first for 5 minutes then I closed it with few small cut of paper. I counted paper that attracted by plastic ruler. Then for comparison, I repeated the 1^st and 2^nd step but I just use 2 minutes for rubbing the plastic ruler with my hair and in the same distance as the 1^st step, 2cm.

2.      Then for the 2^nd experiment, I rubbed the plastic ruler in 2 minutes and closed it with a few small cut of paper with distance from plastic ruler 2 cm. I counted paper that attracted by plastic ruler. Then for comparison, I repeated the 1^st and 2^nd step but the distance was 4 cm from plastic ruler to few small cut of paper

ANALYZE:

From data above, we can take the underlines:

1.      The longer time to rubbing plastic ruler it will attract paper more. It happens because the longer time needed to create static electricity will make electric force stronger

2.      The closed distance between plastic ruler and paper will attract paper more. It happens because the closed distance between 2 object of static electricity will make electric force stronger

CONCLUSION:

In fact from the result above, the factor of high quality of charge an object, the time to created static electric force and the distance between 2 objects will make the electric force stronger so the hypothesis can be accepted.
